Central Falls
Central Falls carries the distinction of being one of
the most densely populated cities in the country. This tiny, culturally
diverse city covers 1.2 square miles of residential and commercial
development. Many of the city's mills along the Blackstone River remain
occupied by businesses today.
Renovations along the river continue with the construction of a new
docking facility for the authentic canal boat of the Blackstone Valley
Tourism Council and it's Explorer tour boat. The renovation project
includes shops and restaurants, and will serve as a tourist destination
in the Blackstone Valley. A large enterprise zone serves as an
attraction to new business. The Dexter Street Revitalization Project has
attracted several new businesses and social service agencies to the
city.
Central Falls has an elected mayor and city council.
