Wednesday, February 20th is the next Cash Mob being sponsored by the Northern RI Chamber of Commerce and the Blackstone Valley Independent Business Alliance. The gathering location will be at Lincoln High School parking lot. The two mystery businesses to be mobbed will be announced promptly at 6:15 PM.
The Cash Mob concept is simple. The idea is to gather a large group of people, mobbers, who agree to spend $20 at each venue. The larger the crowd, the larger the impact on the local economy. The mob literally descends on the selected businesses and consumers make purchases of their choosing. According to John Gregory, President and CEO of the Northern RI Chamber, “This is a great way to do our part to help stimulate the local economy.” Jeanne Budnick, BVIBA President echoed these sentiments and added, “It’s a lot of fun too.”
